Assessment Methods and Policy

All options include a multiple-choice test, worksheets and a practical observation of teaching.

With each assessment you will receive a sheet identifying the assessment criteria. This will clearly identify what you must do to gain competence.

If your work is not deemed to be of a competent standard, you will have the opportunity to re-sit that particular element. Re-sits for all sections of the course are completely free. Your tutor will be able to inform you of the time period you need to wait prior to re-taking an assessment in order suitably prepare for the re-sit.

Samples of assessed work will be internally verified by a second marker and then subjected to external moderation during the program. The external moderator confirms the assessment decision of your assessors and ensures they compare with national standards.
